Post-doctoral position in Aquatic Ecology at University of Minho, Portugal

The Center for Molecular and Environmental Biology (CBMA) at University of Minho is offering a post-doctoral research fellowship in a research and development project.

The project is entitled “River2Oceam -Socio-ecological and biotechnological solutions for the conservation and valorization of aquatic biodiversity in the Minho Region”. The work plan relates to management and conservation of aquatic biodiversity. Some of the tasks include:-

(i) Assessment and mapping of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the river basins of Northern Portugal.

ii) Integration of existing data from the research team from several previous or ongoing projects, as well as new data generated during the course of the project.

iii) Assessment of citizens’ perceptions and climate trends on biodiversity and services of ecosystems in the study area.

iv) Support in the implementation of a collaborative governance network to promote biodiversity and the services provided by ecosystems.

Experience in large-scale data analysis related to species, communities or functions provided by aquatic ecosystems is advantageous. The position (starting in January 2022) is for a period of 1 year, with a possibility of extension.
