PhD in Chemical Risk Assessment at Landau

One of the working groups in FB7 – Quantitative Landscape Ecology is accepting applications for a PhD in chemical risk assessment. This position is a part of the EU Project – PARC.

Successful candidate will work on the risk assessment of pesticides for ecosystems and thus contribute to the foundations for a holistic risk assessment. Additional tasks include – compiling data from international databases and organizations, especially European project partners and conducting analyses to identify factors that determine the risk of pesticides using modern statistical methods and machine learning.

Prospective candidate should hold a degree (M.Sc. or Diploma) in a relevant field (e.g., ecotoxicology, ecology, biology, landscape ecology, environmental sciences or applied mathematics/computer science) and have a sound knowledge in one or all of the following areas: stress ecology, ecotoxicology, statistics, databases. Necessary practical skills to conduct computer-based analyses (i.e. fluent in R, Python, SQL or
similar languages) is a must.
