Postdoc position at University of Jyväskylä, Finland

The University of Jyväskylä, Finland, is searching for a postdoctoral researcher working on PAH toxicity using OMICS.

More specifically, they search for a postdoctoral researcher in Ecotoxicology for fixed term, 1.1.2016-30.6.2018 (starting date can be negotiated a bit, position for 2,5 years). The postdoctoral researcher will work in the project “Integrated OMICS and imaging for a better understanding of ecotoxicological mechanisms – PAH developmental toxicity as an example”, funded by the Academy of Finland and led by Academy Research Fellow Eeva-Riikka Vehniäinen. The project explores the mechanisms of developmental toxicity caused by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in fish embryos, using transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and imaging. The aim is to identify key genes and signaling routes behind the toxicity, to find new biomarkers, and thereby gain new information for the needs of environmental risk assessment. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to spend some part of the appointment in a collaborating research group in Norway.
